On My Birthday....

Hi everyone.  Yesterday was my birthday.  I've been celebrating it since last weekend, visiting with friends and family.  I met my friend, Tammy, for breakfast at one of my favorite places.  Viola's was chosen as one of the top 50 places to get a breakfast burrito in the state of New Mexico.
Huevos Rancheros.
From there I headed to the Horse Stables.  I hadn't been up there since last year and I wanted to see if there were any babies.  No babies but I ran into some other friends and had a good time petting their horses and dog.  I was in the stalls and didn't take my camera with me.

I stopped at an overlook and took the following photos.  The first one is of a beautiful mountain lion sculpture that is in the middle of a round-about.   I've always wanted to take a photo of it but didn't want to stop traffic to do it.
Looking back towards downtown.
I came across this stump.  Do you see anything?
Maybe a bug of some sort with large antennas?

I stopped by my mother's final resting place.  What better day to visit than the day I was born.  I miss her terribly.
After taking this photo I went over to sit in the shade along a little ledge.  There was lots of commotion behind me and I wondered what was going on.  Next thing I know I have a visitor not too far from me.
He was so focused on his friend that I don't think he noticed me.
This was the cautious one.  It stayed next to the tree.  I wonder if they have a little family nearby.
Next I took a photo of our school spirit.  The high school mascot is a hilltopper mountain man.  Quite appropriate since we sit on top of mesas.
My brother graduated from here and now two of his children will be going there this next school year.

Another one of my favorite places in town is the public library.
They have a used bookstore; this is where I take my books if I don't pass them on to friends.  They also have a section of free books.  On this visit I picked up a shorthand book for free!  How fun is that??

Nikki from Graphix and Design and I share the same birthday.  Stop by and visit her and wish her a belated happy birthday!  We met through WOYWW.  She mailed me a nice package with goodies for my birthday; her's will be in the mail soon (I'm always running late).

Thank you for sharing my birthday with me!  I hope you are enjoying your day.

Peace,
Kay

WOYWW - It's a Takeover!!!

Hi all.  Happy Wednesday!  It's the day that we all meet up at Julia's place, otherwise known as Stamping Ground.  Another week that desks are shared from around the world.

To say I've been overwhelmed would be an understatement.  I managed to mail out the anniversary ATCs over the weekend (if you don't receive yours please let me know).

My desk.  Let's just say that I've been working on creating a dedicated space in my bedroom.  I started this project then got sidetracked when I had friends help me move EVERYTHING I had in a storage unit to my house.  I have boxes in every nook and cranny of my one bedroom, 980 square feet condo.  Yikes!
This is the desk I'm setting up in my bedroom.  I found the carousel organizer at the thrift store for $5!
There's a set of bookshelves on both sides of the desk.
Now, for all the boxes I need to unpack....  most of them say craft/gardening books and art supplies (no surprise there).  Boxes also fill my well organized closet (forgot to take a photo of that).
To top it off, I found a snakeskin in my backyard.  Hopefully the snake that shed it has moved on.  Little Muffin dog is quite the hunter so I'm hoping she won't catch it and bring it inside the house (through the doggie door).  Please keep your fingers crossed for me.
As always, I will visit those that visit me (please leave your number) and those that end in the same number as me.  It will probably be the weekend before I get the majority of my visits done.

Peace,
Kay

Friday Smiles - Week 74

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry I've been so absent.  I managed to get everything out of my storage unit in town and now it's in the house!  To say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement.

For those of you who I promised an ATC for the WOYWW Anniversary I can FINALLY say they are in the mail!  Whew.  I'm going to put on my calendar a month in advance next year to start making them.

Today I'm linking up with Annie at A Stitch In Time.  I found this photo on pinterest and it is exactly how I feel right now.  A bit frazzled and tired.  Not to mention the mess I have at my house!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  As for me, I'm hoping to get a couple of outdoor projects done.  Wish me luck!

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope this photo brought a giggle and a smile.

Peace,
Kay

WOYWW 261 - How Blessed Can One Girl Be?

Hello everyone.  It's Wednesday so that means it's time to visit desks.  The lovely lady that started this all is Julia.  Please visit Stamping Ground and say hello.  From there you can visit desks from all around the world.  WOYWW just celebrated it's Fifth Year.  Congratulations to Julia for starting this and also the deskers that participate.  It's amazing how close I've gotten to so many of you without ever meeting.  I'm blessed.

Imagine my surprise to receive an envelope from Julia with quite a few ATCs - all for me!  They were collected at the Crop.  Thank you Julia, Alison, Lunch Lady Jan, Debbie, Maggie, Cindy and Shaz.  When I opened the envelope and saw all the ATCs I actually started to cry!  Yep, I'm an emotional gal.

I have also received ATCs from Annie, Kim and Nan.  Thank you all so much.

Being the late bloomer that I am mine are still on my deskInstead of showing my desk I'm sharing the ATCs that I've received.

Thank you all so much!

As always, I will visit those that end in the same number as me and those that visit me.  I was visiting desks up until Sunday this past week.  I honestly can't wait to retire so I can have my own schedule and more time for the things that bring me happiness!

Happy WOYWW,
Peace,
Kay
