WOYWW - 355

Hello everyone!  Another happy WednesdayI'm joining in with Julia over at Stamping Ground.  People from places near and far show their desks and what they are working on.  Julia has a full explanation of WOYWW on her blog HERE.

A look at my scarf while taking it off the loom.  Notice the open areas?  The colors of the scarf are true to this photo - the one below was taken in bad lighting but you get the idea.

After felting.  I'm not happy with how it turned out.  I used my washing machine using hot water on a delicate cycle.  Not only did it felt too much, it's also uneven.  Next time I will try the hand felting method.  I might felt it again then cut it up for flowers.  That's an idea - do you have any others?
I'm still in my comfy chair knitting up a storm.  I've been making spa cloths (fancy word for dish/wash cloths).  I'd like to group them in threes.  I love the top one the most.
For your added pleasure - here's a pair of sandals I just bought.  They are completely recycled.  The company is called Re-sole.  I found them on Amazon (like most of my shoes/sandals).

As always, I will do my best to visit those that end in the same number as me and those that visit me (please leave your number).

As far as Windows 10 goes; I went to Starbuck and used free wifi to play around with it.  I'm slowly making progress and have made folders for my photos.  Now I just need to get with it and list some items!  I hate to get the warnings from my wifi provider that I'm almost out of data.... and it doesn't seem like I've used all that much.

Peace,
Kay

Linen Stitch Love Affair

Hello peeps.  I hope everyone is doing well and not stuck where the weather is bad.  We are very lucky here in New Mexico.  The joke here is if you don't like the weather wait a few minutes as it's bound to change.

I've been knitting up a storm.  I am in LOVE with the linen stitch.  I'm not sure why it took me so long to try it.  I've made several cowls and scarves and just love them.  Unlike the moss stitch, the fabric is different on the back.  At first that sort of bothered me but I've gotten over it.  The linen stitch creates a dense fabric and depending on the yarn, it will look different.
I'm in love with the colors of this yarn.  Can you see the design the linen stitch?  I just love it.
Hello love.
Both of these cowls will be listed in my etsy shop soon!  The name of my shop is 505whimsygirl.  What do you think of that?  I can't believe I had the hindsight to do that!!

Knitting the linen stitch in the round is so easy!  When working in the round the right side of the fabric is always facing you.  Working in the round requires an even number of stitches.  The weight of the yarn will determine how many stitches to cast on.  I think I cast on around 80 for these cowls.

Round 1:  *K1, slip 1 with yarn in front; repeat from * around.
Round 2:  *Slip 1 with yarn in front, K1; repeat from * around.

Really, what you are doing is just continuing with the K1, slip 1 with yarn in front.  It's THAT simple!  I don't have to worry about where I'm at when I put down my project and pick it back up.

I think I'm coming to grips with Windows 10 and have been able to organize my photos a bit.  I'm still not sure exactly where they go once they're downloaded but I'm getting better, thanks to a WOYWWer that gave me some tips!

Peace,
Kay

WOYWW - 352

Hello everyone!  Another happy WednesdayI'm joining in with Julia over at Stamping Ground.  People from places near and far show their desks and what they are working on.  Julia has a full explanation of WOYWW on her blog HERE.

My workdesk has been my comfy chair (again).  Yep, it's my favorite place to be.  I've really been knitting up a storm.

I took a knitting class at my local yarn shop.  The technique I learned is stranded knitting.  It's using two colors on the same row.  I surprised myself at how easy it is to knit with both my left and right hand!  I still need to block my cowl.  I'm not crazy about the colors (I had no choice); I've decided this will be my dad's birthday present in October.  He doesn't like turtlenecks so don't know if he'll wear it.  Maybe when he goes hunting it'll come in handy.

I received some happy mail.  Don't you LOVE the labels my friend Connie sent me!  Aren't they too cute!  You can visit Connie at her blog Crafty Home Cottage.

Have I said how much I HATE Windows 10?  I was able to download photos but sometimes I can't find them.  After being on the computer all day long I really don't want to spend any extra time trying to figure it out.

As always, I will visit those that end in the same number as me and those that leave a comment (please leave your number).  It will more likely be Friday before I get around.

Happy WOYWW

Peace,
Kay
